It's really easy to see the faults in the current infrastructure and forget how far we've come. May Allah grant us the ability in 20 years time to look back at today and still be able to say we've come a long way

We have peace and construction boom apart from that we are still stuck in 1991.

Suldan it's not just infrastructure but all areas of life that has fallen short
Hargeisa general needs a complete refub
Water shortage
Education how can we have private schools when the govt education system itself needs to be rehauled and the school bulidings need a complete refub... I would abolish all private schools and make them come under govt authority..

Roads /lightening in all areas of urban cities..

Youth employment

I actually don't blame the SL youth for tahriibiin it out...The more that make it out the better

private school needs to be regulated, today it's nothing but business, we need to cut short the number of universities as well, the education scam is a big part of the tahbriib tragedy. We need more vocational training as well.

Diaspora needs to organize as one and start fundraising together, we are probably 10 000 - 15 000 somalilanders in the west, probably another 3000 - 5000 in the rich gulf lands.

That will never happen as anyone that builds a school will do it if it benefits their clan only

Water shortages and roadworks/lighting are being addressed, though progress is being done at a snail's pace. I agree that private schools need to be regulated...just because they're private doesn't mean they should be legally operating in SL.

While corruption & overall laziness play a huge role as to why development is slow, we also have to consider that the lack of recognition means that we have to do things ourselves; which means things won't change overnight, but eventually things will change for the better. As a diaspora community who play a huge role in the affairs back home, we should be obligated to pick up the tab for government projects which is why I hope a remittance tax is enforced one day.

Garxajis in Southern Ontario alone outnumber that figure and you're talking about the entire SL diaspora

The last time we counted there were 3,000 Adan Madoobe in the UK alone, forgot about the other qurba joog. In the UK there is an estimated 108,000 Somalis, reer Somaliland being majority.
My own area Tower Hamlets has over 10,000 Somalis.
