I meant we should focus on consolidating our economy and upgrading the capacity of governmental institutions, fighting tribal nepotism/corruption and enhancing the capability of the army.
Nevertheless, the biggest threat in my humble opinion are certain segments of the civil society that might be infiltrated NGO's that propagate nonsense such as animal rights as an excuse to collect intelligence for Western corporations. If we don't root out this threat now, they will almost certainly bring 'liberation' and 'democracy' to S.land in order to pillage our resource-rich nation.

Waa sidaas. Our main focus should be on energy and food self-sufficiency. Clean water and power to every household in Somaliland is a must and reforestation/agricultural projects all over the country. When we have reliable power and water, we can develop into the next stage which is manufaturing goods internally instead of spending millions of dollars in currency importing goods from outside.
As for the army, I have made a number posts/threads about a need for a huge overhaul. Right now, the SL army is just one big welfare scheme where soldiers sit on their arses and get paid to chew qaad and occasionally prance around during May 18th celebrations. The army needs to be leaner and meaner, reduce the pay and increase the training and combat eexperience. Overhaul the hardare which is either out of date or defunct. produce cheap surveilance drones and upgrade technicals with anti-air/anti-tank stingers.
