Stayed there in 2011 for few days. Nice town.

I lived there for a while. My advice to you is stay in the Galmudug side as you are a Galmudugian. If you stay in the PL side you may be at risk of kidnap.

Hotels:

1. Embassy Hotel - clean and safe

2. City Hotel - very nice I have been told


Restaurant:

1. Karama - good food, little pricier than the local restaurant but much more sanitary.

Grandpa... no major incidents in South Galkacyo because 90% are Qaddriyah suufis and the 10% non Sufis are monitored. There are also no shadowy agencies that are involved in wars with AS unlike the North.
