Somalia: Four Dead, Three Wounded in Clan Clashes in Somalia

At least four people are reported to have been killed, and three other wounded in a renewed tribal fighting flared up near Elbur city in Somalia's central Galgadud region.

Saturday's clan skirmish broke out after armed militiamen attacked a borehole at Hiim-Adde locality, subsequently sparking a gunfight with other clan fighters.

Local residents who spoke to Radio Shabelle by phone, said today's combat was heavy as both rival clan loyalists used machine-guns and RPGs in the shootout.

Villagers say they are terrified and prepared to flee their houses if the scuffle continues to be rampant, and local elders fail to intervene in the deadly fighting.
