This is not the first time I saw Isaak clan mentioned in Jubaland. The sources F. Elliot used in his writings about Jubaland also mentioned Isaak clan. Also, Hargaisa Yareey which is near Jilib has always been there and was always known for that name. My assumption is it is very possible that some Habar-Yoonis folks came with the Makaahiil in the adventure to invade Jubaland. The Makaahiils were the very first group to get to Jubaland followed by MZ and Tolomoge. Cawlyahans were the last to arrive of the OG clans and I think they arrived circa 1860s.Do you mean Somaliland ? The eastern side of the ganane river is jilib and jamame right ? That's biimaal Deegaan ! if you move further East beyond jubaland there is marka an other biimaal Deegaan. The east he is talking about must be here if not Somaliland probably Sanaag . Since isaaqs are related to biimaal it's possible that isaaqs lived with the biimaal , there are some still living with them my grandfather was one of them, though he settled there after the dabadheer drought that hit the North . That's my theory.present day Isaaq degaans are on the eastern side of the river, I think that is what the writer meant! For you information, Biyomaal was rarely mentioned in Jubaland by European authors but rather deep in Banaadir and Sh/Hoose.
