Asalamu Aleykum W'rahmatullahi Wa Bararakatu.
Firstly, thank you for clicking on my beloved Son Abdirahman Bashir's Gofundme page, I am a mother of eight children. My eldest, Abdirahman Bashir, 22 was reported to have passed away on the Wednesday 28th of September due his blood sugar levels having dropped as he was a diabetic. Later we found out this was a brutal murder; a cover up.
Abdirahman was in an Islamic Institute in Bosaaso, Somalia known as Al-Badriya College, aimed to discipline the western diaspora and educate them on the foundations of Islam. My husband and I entrusted our son and his cousin 23 years of age, in the hands of the head teacher named Abdirasaq Ali Mohamed also known as 'Ina Cali Gayre'.
My husband signed a contract with this man with several witnesses stating that our son Abdirahman and his cousin would NOT be harmed physically and that if they so much were complaining about something as little as a headache, they would take them to a doctor as soon as possible. Bearing in mind, Abdirahman was in the care of this man who my husband entrusted his son wholly.
For four consecutive days before his death as reported by his cousin who was with him. Abdirahman fell incredibly ill, his blood levels were low, he vomited whatever he ate and could not keep down any food and for his insulin to work, he needed food in his system. Abdirahman asked repeatedly to be taken to the hospital before his death as he was in severe abdominal pain but his wishes were ignored.
By Tuesday morning he was weak and had not kept anything down for several days and still pleading to be taken to the nearest hospital. It is clear was neglected by the head teacher, who solely had the power to authorise a trip to the hospital, instead of listening he took his pleas as excuse and a way out of the boarding school.
Later on that evening Abdirahman was taken in to an 'isolation' room for not co operating with the head teacher primarily to be taught a lesson and to made and example of. It is evident that words were exchanged and soon after he was brutally beaten with a either a wooden plank or a metal bar by the head teacher. Two instruments that were regularly used to discipline the boys. Abdirahmas legs were battered and bruises were found all over his body, but the final blow was trauma to the head and bleeding from the nose. All of this resulted from simply asking repeatedly to be taken to a doctor, this caused the headteacher to become irate and completely switch on him.
His cousin heard the screams of Abdirahman and rushed to the scene, he was refused entry by the guards and waited until his already weak, distressed cousin to leave the 'torture room'. He tried to assist Abdirahman by trying to stop his bleeding from his nose but the head teacher demanded his cousin to leave the premises or he would be next. Only when he left the the place was he able to tell the family back in the UK the full story and the cause of Abdirahman's death. It is now known that he died as a result of the injuries afflicted by the head teacher.
On the morning that he died, when on the verge of death, the teachers called his guardian to tell him of the news that he 'wasn't feeling well'. His guardian stated he headed out to the market to grab him some milk and some dates, thinking it was something minor, for example a headache caused by the hot weather. He then suddenly came back to Abdirahman taking his last breaths. At that time we told that the cause of death was his blood sugar levels dropping and it made sense...this was a person who suffered from diabetes after all. Hours later a distant family relative heard news of a rushed burial preparation of a boy from the UK and alarm bells rang.
Now lets take a minute to think... A young man who left his home in the UK, a month later is being buried by the head teacher of the school he was in...so quickly with not a single family member by his side. The relative had his suspicions and after arguing with the head teacher, he was able to go and see my sons body, already in the shroud (kaffan) . After cutting open the shroud my son was in, his suspicions were confirmed when he saw my sons face, the marks on his body and immediately knew he was beaten. Does the head teacher not know Allah is the most just? Does he not know this boy was from a family that loved and cherished him more than anything? Did he not think I left my son as an amanah with him to take care of him and teach him the deen?
After research on the background of this place and this head teacher, we have found out my son is not the first but the fifth child to die under his care via his physical abuse.
For anyone reading this who is unable to comprehend what has happened. It is gut wrenching for me as a mother to know that this happened before. Nothing anyone says will bring my son back. Nor blame nor accusation will bring him back. Again, it was the Qadr of Allah and it is we, his parents, who feel this pain the most.
I am making this gofundme page on behalf on Abdirahman my son as a Sadaqtul Jariya for him.
Abu Hurayrah, rahimahullah, reported that Allah's Messenger, sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam, said: "When a human being dies, all of his deeds are terminated except for three types: an ongoing sadaqah, a knowledge (of Islam) from which others benefit, and a righteous child who makes du'a for him." — Muslim
My plan is to build a masjid in Somalia in his name and the money you help with will benefit my son in the hereafter In Sha Allah, for he was not only a son but a brother, a grandson, a cousin, a nephew and a friend. It would mean so much to all of us affected by this tragedy for anyone to help in anyway they can.
As far as the 28th of September this man is held in a prison in Bosaaso, Somalia facing multiple counts of murder and awaiting trial.
Regarding raising awareness about this school itself, me and my family will try our best to close this place down and prevent anything like this ever happening again. For your own interest you can :
Go on youtube and type : Badriya Bosaaso and watch the video and read the comments for yourselves.
(link will be provided)
Awareness needs to be firstly raised to the Somali community that this man is NOT to be trusted, I am in pain knowing so many youths are under his care. I know if justice is not served on this earth, Allah will serve it In Sha Allah no doubt.
All we can do now is pray for my son, make dua on his behalf as dua is a believers strongest form of connection with Allah. Inna Illahi Wa inna illahi raji'oon, May Allah have mercy on his soul and may Allah grant him gardens under which rivers flow. And may Allah shower his blessing on Abdirahman and the rest of the ummmah. Ameen. Thank you for your support.

somalis have to stop treating men in their early 20s like little teenagers .twenty -something year olds should not be sent off to Dugsi ;or for an arranged marriage when they become drug addicts ;or to basically live back home in remittance .once you pass 19 and you're a failure ,parents should tell their sons to hit the road or make a decent living .how can a 22 year old man be Sent to dugsi ?

AUN. I remember when I went to Garowe, meeting this British Somali kid at an Internet cafè. He told me about how he escaped some boarding school in Bosaaso for dhaqan celis folks. It sounded horrible. I wonder if it's the same place.

Ammar Abdihamid Abdirahman, 17, was killed at a boarding school in the Somali town of Qardho six months after he left Minnesota.
Somali media reports and Abdirahman's family attorney say a group that included the school's principal allegedly beat Abdirahman to death.

Dhaqan celis are most descriminated people in burao, the local kids throw stones on them, local teenagers pull them and and grab their possessions any time they wish , other people take advantage of them by doubling the prize of every thing they want to buy , older men insult them calling all kinds of bad nicknames. Dhaqan celis are those who can barely speak Somali. Burao People think you are handcup if you are Somali but can't speak your own ethnic language.
Re: Failed parents send their son to his death via dhaqancelis prison
I heard about those infamous schools in remote areas housing dhaqan celis kids. Bunch of lil locals from my area were sent there and they tried to escape after few months. They jumped and beat the crap out of one of the guards, as they were fleeing, another guard opened fire and killed dhaqan celis kid from the U.K. The rest ended up escaping to the nearest city.
It was the talk of the town when it happened lol
Anyways I think dhaqan Celis when it comes to criminals is useless. It's fine when normal kids are sent back to learn the culture but it's entirely a different story with juvenile delinquents. They're just gonna continue with their way of life and end up corrupting local youth called "dhaqan aan dhoofin".

Re: Failed parents send their son to his death via dhaqancelis prison
Why somalis assume if one is sent to some Islamic school aka terrorist schools that he or she will change as soon as he can read or memorize the Arab Bible called the Koran?
