Some of the nationalistic shabaab will defect now that Farmaajo is elected kulaha. Op ma hurudaa? Shabaab and nationalism don't go together. The next scheduled qarax is the 25th. We will see how Farmajo deals with this

I am really curious how Al-Shabaab leaders will respond to this latest election. But I highly doubt they will change their tune, since most of Al-Shabaab leaders or backers are against a peaceful and functioning Somalia. However I do think that many Al-Shabaab foot-soldiers will either join the other wagon (SNA) or they will just mingle with the public as ex-fighters back to their normal living. It will be interesting to see in the upcoming days, weeks and months. Either way Farmaajo's administration will offer amnesty like he did before when he was a PM, at the same time he will battle them in the field. So for him it is amnesty plus war, mix and match unless he changes his old tactics.

He ain't Al-Shabaab supporter per see, he is just rooting for any entity that brings havoc and mayhem in Southern Somalia.

your enemy's enemy is your friend. Shababs hate Somalia being run from Halane compound and the new sheriff is going to end that diplomatically. Maybe they are in a wait and see mode now.

It is also going to be very difficult for them to do their dirty work. The new president is putting millions of dollars aside for whistle blowers.

nor per say there needs to be a compramiset if farmajo wants to be the president he needs to talk to alshabaab ask what they want and have some sort.of inclusion declaring war on alshabaab just means more blood and jihad will continue on their side. if he is smart he would make peace with shabaab. and pick his prime minister from al shabaab if i was him i would made daahir aweys prime minister in order to show to shabaab i am also ur president and lets work together.

if farmajo chooses to ignore shabaab and hide behind buhuku bahaka . the mortar attack suicide attacks will continue and he will run back to the usa
