It filled up in only 1 day.

But truth is it has untapped potential for expansion because its surrounded by hills.

They had to complete it in time for rains. But Xumboweyne dam can be 20 or 30 metres higher still.

The future is bright. We are limited only by our imagination.

Remember the topics about water we have been discussing? I feel the elders are finally starting to see the light.

Wassim, man behind Humboweyne, reckons he has found at least 150 sites in SL thst can hold water like Humboweyne-- some even bigger.

You can triple maybe much more the amount of rainwater captured if you have trees and grass growing.
Soil can store an order of magnitude more.

Gurey & AR u are spot on. Tree planting and rainwater harvesting is part of the solution.

Because of SL mountainous topography it has hundreds of small & medium rivers. The mountain range is a natural rain catcher. We need to better utilise these rivers from Gacan Libaax & Sheekh mountains to Daallo & Las Surad

Every year millions of litres of water run off into the Gulf of Berbera. We can capture that water, store it and utilise. Agriculture and food production will boom. Famine will be resigned to history

This is one small area of maybe 100km. There are hundreds of rivers

I wonder how much the seepage and evaporation calculation is?

Nevertheless its great start we need many more water reservoirs in large dry rivers.

I'm surprised today you didn't insert in your usual unconstructive calacaal. I was expecting you to say something about the color of the water, choices in the bricks, maybe those buildings near by and why some are certain colors or if they had to blow up some Buddha Taliban-style (Afghanistan).

I doubt you even aware of what you write and how it's always just about complaining, nagging, niic but different niic to LiquidHydrogen. He was useless critic in that sense that he wanted Burco to become Vienna over night but he contributed zero himself.

Now for the evaporation.

Dee you can tell one of your geeljire uncles to calculate since they not too far from this area (Gacan libaax). All they need is a bucket of water in the sun for x amount of hours and monitor the drop in the bucket levels.
