lemme ask you this. You say people have the right to self-identify, huh? How about a guy gets his ceeb cut off and he says he's a girl. Is "he" a girl? Answer that question and nothing else.People have the right to self-define themselves. Somalis are a race. As self-determined people we are willing to impose that into the world.
I'm bringing up Nigerians because they are also africans. And Somali will never be a race. You might as well stop trying.
We do not subscribe to western racialogy of negroid & caucasian or black and white. I can see you do considering how heavily westernized you are and how you want to desperately fit in with the dominant American culture.
Most of AAs and Bantus have an image of self built out of a house of racism. They are hence blacks, finding identity in the fringes of whiteness.
Notice today only two major racial groups adhere to color definitions; the group with the most oppresion (African and AAs) and the oppressor, the European (White). While every other self-determined people have commuted color labels, the Bantus and African American in lands of strong white influence still romantically hold on to it.
Culturally intact nations have their own agency and Self definitions, Japanese & Chinese do not identify as "Yellow", Ethiopians & Somalis do not identify as "Black". Arabs and Isreali Jews do not identify as "White"
