I think it's $4m now.

Not bad. Every May 18 should be about giving including planting thousands of trees.

I personally want to donate seeds. I care about nature.

Nagast,

Ethiopia always congratulated SL and is nothing new despite what the site claims.

However I hears Ethiopia upgraded the SL consulate office in Addis.

Both SL and Ethiopia understand we need to keep Mogadishu at bay but we have not made that official because Mogadishu is no threat to anyone.

Giving Ethiopia stalk in the port seals the deal tho because if Mogadishu lays claim, they also claiming Ethiopia's own 19%.

That automatically arms her to defend her stalk.

I think that's a major blow for those who believed in so called union between SL and Somalia.

It's better to give Ethiopia a cut and be free of Somalia.

That's the message. Now that IC players know Somalia is no threat, they will invest in Berbera.

I also think Ethiopian hotelier groups should come to Berbera to invest in beach-front resorts.

Basically what happened is what I have always said. People were saying what I say does not reflect reality but in fact SL has implemented what I have maintained and the rest will happen.

Yea, I have suspicion that the 19% stake in the port had a constingent that Ethiopia must recognize Somaliland within a given amount of time. The stake is small compared to what Somaliland will gain. Ethiopia will spend much needed funds in the Somali region for infrastructure and roads leading to and even in Somaliland. It will also eventually export up to 30% of its good through the port. Lastly it will require Ethiopia to safeguard the use of the port as the roads leading to it will be of little use if the port is lost. Leading Somaliland to spend less on military and more on building a stable economy. Plus Somaliland will learn how to deal in soft power and eventually getting more FDI. Do you think Somalia would be in a position to deny either country, even through international mediation?
