Demand a $10 billion USD, paid upfront to the Somali government. If they both pay, increase it to $15 billion, and whoever pays the most, that is the guy to "support".

In reality, we should be neutral.
the offer they are making is little 80million and yes I agree we should not sell out, we don't know who will win, we should remain neutral Qatar airways operates in all other nations except this little gang of arab nations. Plus Turkey as well as Qatar are already invested in Mogadishu.

Let the other clan enclaves accept bribes, they have no authority of the nation while Mogadishu does, Qabiil wars and terrorist will continue because they want to use our land as a place for proxy war, but I don't think Somalis have appetite to fight each other so they will just waste their money and perhaps those who make deals with Saudi will regret it later on their own turfs.

politically Somalia will be divided into regions.
why do you think it is already not divided? for 25 years with out government and in choas, they were their own government and still are.
i really dont care a sht about those regions.if it becomes apparent our interests on national and international issues can not be reconciled, then i am open to SL and Pl becoming their own countries.we have zero economic relations with them anyway.i rather have a small working viable rich country then very large chaotic non-functional country like the somalia we have today.

Staying neutral is the best solution. Saudi arabia is a bully. Am pretty sure they would come up w/ cheap offer like $80 million reward for cuting ties with Qatar. It's just not good idea to sever relationship with a pottential trade partner/ invester for someone else's perogative. I mean that would be a slap on the face to our ally Turkey who is watching us closely and btw continuoe to remain neutral.

Staying neutral is the best solution.
That maybe so if both parties are of equal strength. In any case, by trying to stay neutral, Somalia's gov has lost the support of vital funds.

It's time Somalia came off welfare anyway.
We need to bypass the sand niggers & monkey's......go straight to the big dog/USA on the block.
The offshore oil should be signed over for security and development. :)

The alternative is to remain at the mercy of these gulf nations? Once a begger always a begger? Well i have news for you: tough austerity won't make any more painful for the lives of the average Xalimo or Faarax who face the same grim outlook he/she faced. Moreover, if we picked sides solely on the basis of continoution of aid money -that's pathetic!

Say we picked Saudi arabia and chose to piss off Turkey who is neutral on this matter ( remember our number one invester/ helper) and then down the line get discarded like a used condom by Saudi Arabia -is that a necessary mess worth getting into?

If however, the pathetic sfg were getting enormous amount from one country over the other (say 500 million in aid), i would say make that hustler decision. I know i am contradicting myself here!

darood will fail

because hawiye will make them fail.

hawiye cannot allow for a darood to fix Somalia because then history will remember 26 years of hawiye chaos fixed by a darood
so that way we know hawiye willl sabotage the govt and they will use external factors Ethiopia and kenya to bring down fail maajo they might even use al shabaab

The Wise SultanOrder said it best. Qatar paid $500 Million ransom just to free some Hunters in Iraq. They have a population of $300,000, while Saudi Has 30 Million. We could probably shake Qatar down for more money after these fat arabs kiss and make up $$

I agree hawyie had not been able to do anything with the capital for 26yrs . When Darood becomes president they undermine him to make him look bad as to say look he's failed.

Wa daad caloosha ka buuka holding the whole country hostage. Hawyie can never produce as good leader because it's not in their Dna . Failure will continue because of jealousy of hawyie.

it is ok.hawiye fought and sacrificed hard to fix somalia.remember sheekh sharif and HSM were developmental presidents.

Hawiye and daarood stand together for national unity and against secession.the simple task of power sharing has already been put in place.what ever happened is a lesson for us to learn and never go back.we are on the right track.hawiye is the backbone of this gov.

Not Hawiye, Not Darod, Not Isaaq Literally, Nobody has achieved anything. Still, Muqdisho outshines all of these regions even though muqdisho hasn't had as much peace.
