before 1960 there was no such thing as somalia.
You're erroneously mistaken. Before colonialism, Somalis were united under sultanates, some lasting centuries.

Which one of these Sultanates was called Somalia? Or is the term strictly an Italian construct? Were all Somalis united under a single sultanate?

Somalia is a fake ideology and it was created by the westerners to cause confusion and to form the delusional tribes that was under the italian colonizetion.it was embarced by afwayne hence this is why Walaweyn support it knowing that is it today nothing but a card that been used to have more access to a certain privileges. There is no such thing as a Somali ethnic nationalism.they created the dhagcasisim for dagcas to fight the ottmans.
