Xabashi maaha, Xabashidu waa qoomiyad gaar ah, waana Amxaar.Xabashi weeyaan

Thanks Ras...They are all Habesha. Amhara is not the only Habesha. Habesha is the ancient name for Ethiopia and often includes people who share that old culture, beliefs and the Ge’ez language.
So they include Tigrais, Tigre, Amhara, Jeberti, Kebessa, Gurage, Adaris (converted to Islam and some of them deny but they are Habesha) and few other minorities.
The difference between Tigrai and Tigres is that Tigres live in Eritrea while Tigrais are from Tigray region in Ethiopia.
They both speak the Tigrinya language along with the Kebessa (Biher-Tigrinya).

Thanks sxb.Tigray = Ethiopia (current ruling party)
Tigre = Eritrea
They’re kind of the same people and they speak the same language with different dialogues.
Tigray = North west Ethiopian region. Inhabited by Tigrayan (or Tigrai) ppl. They are TPLF. They speak Tigrinya language. Mostly Christian.Thanks sxb.Tigray = Ethiopia (current ruling party)
Tigre = Eritrea
They’re kind of the same people and they speak the same language with different dialogues.
Does that mean they speak only same language but ethnically are different people?
For example there are minority ethnic groups in Koonfur, they are Somali national but they are not Somali ethnic group and they speak Somali. Thwy don't have their own language.
