DP World Plans To Set Up A Logistics Facility In Ethiopia

Postby BlackAdenFamily » Sun Jul 01, 2018 2:45 am

:o
Dubai: DP World is planning to set up a logistics facility in Ethiopia to facilitate transport of goods to landlocked countries in Africa, DP World Group Chairman & CEO and Chairman of Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation Sultan Bin Sulayem has revealed.

“We are planning to set up a logistics complex in Ethiopia where goods can be transported from the port to it, and from there it can be transported to different African landlocked countries. We have signed a number of agreements with Ethiopia that will promote our friendly relationships with them. Business groups in Dubai can always benefit from DP World’s presence in different countries including Rwanda and Egypt where re-exporting opportunities are abundant,” Bin Sulayem said during an open dialogue with trade and business groups in Dubai.
My thoughts:

This DP World ran logistics facility in Ethiopia has just secured Berbera's 30% share of Ethiopian exports and imports. With that being said our government budget will get bigger over the years and our sovereignty will only get stronger.

Somalia has always thought if they continued to economically isolate us from the world that unemployment would rocket and that the people would revolt laakiin the DP World deal has not only cemented our independence but its the gateway to more investment and development.

IOG shot himself in the foot. He disrespected the UAE and they'll send Djibouti back to 2005. Never bite the hand that feeds you.

This is not good news for SL. Why would they not set up the logistics centre inside SL? It seems like they want all the goods coming from ports around Somalia and somaliland shipped to Ethiopia and sorted out in Ethiopia. It means those jobs will be Ethiopian jobs instead of jobs for our people.

What ever goes into to that DP logistics centre in Ethiopia will defenitely come from DP berbera . We always wanted this kind of connection thanks to the DP world leadership .

Exactly it seems that somaliland are being played. The first sign was giving away 70% of our port for 30 years to foreigners! Then Uae gives 3 billion in aid to Ethiopia. Since were giving away our port why hasn't Somaliland received any of that aid in good gesture?

Also the biggest thing is Dp World has NOT EVEN STARTED ANY CONSTRUCTION OF THE PORT! They haven't added anything and use the Berbera port as an import export place. Apparently every week Dp World takes away millions of dollars in cash on flydubai out of hargesia airport wtf? :broken: :(

Look.....I don't want to say I told you so but.......what did you expect?
A long time ago I had a conversation with some well connected intellectual iidoors and was surprised what they told me.
Basically....Ethiopia will be the last country to recognise s/l because it wants to keep s/l utterly dependent. :)

The secession issue skews the relationship between north and south.
Ethiopia is the only one benefiting from the estrangement of Somali's. :)

Ethiopia benefits but did not cause the estrangement ultimately. For Somaliland the issue of independence is irreversible and non negotiable
