Oromo returns to Ethiopian leadership

Postby AwRastaale » Fri Jul 13, 2018 6:54 pm

Oromo golden days were probably during the Zemene Mesafint (Era of the Princes) with all the game changing leaders. Even though Amhara and Tigrais would put a lid on their great contributions to Ethiopian state and only credit Oromo for Derg era, Oromo is back at the helm.

TPLF may still call some shots but I believe it's eroding away. It's dying and is slowly being reclaimed by Oromo and Amhara same way nature reclaims ancient ruins.

As of today;

PM: Oromo
President: Oromo
Foreign Minister: Oromo

Many senior ministers are Oromo and won't be long before the army leadership is made to welcome their Oromo leaders. After all Abiye is well connected to the army and intelligence apparatus.

The question is who is driving the Eritrea-Ethiopia peace initiative?

This one could go both ways. It could be the last effort by TPLF to finally kiss the superior Hamasien ring in exchange for future safe passage, collaboration like EPLF-TPLF days, and restore their debilitating resources.

We know Isaias always wanted to control Ethiopia through his own Tigray-led operations namely TPDM, Tembien influencers. He was not against Tigrais controlling Ethiopia but against the Adwa-Axum establishment who were hostile towards him and didn't share his vision or that of Enderta and Tembien Tigrais.

So it could be an effort to revive Tigringya speakers control over Ethiopia.

The second case is that Abiye outsmarted the TPLF and initiated it. If this is the case, TPLF is pretty much defeated.

I know some of the Tigrais protested his visit and the signing off Badme officially to Eritrea.

We can say Oromo is back and when I talk about Oromo I'm talking about the Abyssinian Oromos not the low grade Afran Qallu, nomadic Borana or the Nilotic Macha

In the next ten years we will see more Oromo grip of Ethiopia.

u know, that's a tough one, because it's such a huge clan. we're at least 13 million strong at this point.
i'd guess, 30-40% maybe non muslim, while 60-70% are Muslim.

we live in the following areas, for the record:
south of the Blue Nile (Abbai)
and in: Wallagaa, Illubabor, Kaffa[which includes Jimma] and Shawa.

historically, most of our leaders peacefully submitted to menelik, some marrying into his family, and retained our autonomy, in exchange for paying a yearly tribute (in the form of gold, slaves, ivory, etc). our leaders were convinced, for the most part, that we were submitting to an oromo general (gobana dacce) as opposed to submitting to a habasha one, and we were of the belief that, we did not have sufficient arms to fight off the expanding empire of menelik. he had 100,000 rifles, while our people were blocked from getting arms, the same way the somalis were, despite having ports.
we essentially never really lost our freedom, until haile selassie's time when he was more strict on centralizing the empire; and we never suffered the same way our other brethren did who resisted menelik and thus were, tragically, massacred.
we also played a huge role in defeating the mahdists of sudan on the western side of our lands, with a joint shewan army.

This is misleading. OPDO has executive influence, but their power is yet to be seen. The security force is still stirring chaos in the country.

^^
Awrastale, I thought u know Ethio better than that!
The driving force of Ethio and Oromo is Maccaa clan!
Ambo+the four wallggaas+the two ilu abbaa boor and Jimmaa is Maccaa! basically 40 % of oromo is Macca!
In my opinion Oromos will digest abyssinianism and use it.

Its rumored that Isayas is proposing his ports for little against economic integration and then the sky is the limit

Maccaa Power! Oromo Power! Ethio Power! Bantu power!
Then we will liberate our somali bantu brothers!

I was pulling some sensitive kid that I know leg. And it worked.

I’m afraid even with the whole Ethiopian state under your belt you will not mess with a single Somali tribe let alone the Somali nation.

And tomorrow you will be back crying about Ethiopia when Abiye is forced out like his predecessor.

Ps, Macca played almost no role in Ethiopia until TPLF saw use for them. They know they don’t border them like the Raayya and Yejju nor are powerful like the Tulama and Arsi so they trusted them.

The Yejju, Tulama and Arsi are the real warriors who also brought about Desalegn’s resignations and ultimately Abiye.

Not much activity in Wellega. They are pretty obedient.

Berbera will stand my friend. Assab and Massawa will benefit Tigray region and perhaps Afar but Djibouti and Berbera are the natural ports for Oromo people.

If Tigray blockade you, what you going to do?

Your clutching at straws now.......Berbera as a premiere Ethiopian port is as dead as the Dodo. :)
If the iidoor are clever they will seek to position Berbera as the port of all Somali lands, pardon the pun.

This guy is useless like his people. They have been praying two centuries for Isaaq to fail while Isaaq go about their business and along the way feed his useless people.
DP World, Ethiopia and Somaliland partnered this year to develop the Port of Berbera. Two weeks ago, DP World said it is considering setting up a logistics facility in Ethiopia to handle goods from the new port of Berbera to other landlocked African countries.

Ethiopia and Eritrea will share the spoils of the carcass known as the Somali.

Are you content with being annexed by these people?
