Somaliland was robbed in broad day light.

Postby DayrBare » Sat Feb 09, 2019 8:41 pm

Did you guys see the papers today? I was shocked to find out that the UAE is renting Berbera port for just 5 million dollars yearly. What is more shocking is the fact that they took the military base free of charge as well. I am not in a position yet to condemn anybody as of now as I don’t have the full details of this new development or if this news is factual, but if this is exactly what happened then I have to say that Somaliland was robbed in broad day light.

It's all shady and bull shit. The effeminate minister of finance is hiding a huge kickback that he and top Kulmiye got. There is a reason him alone retained his ministry.

So that 31% share in the port only amounts to $5 million? That mathematically doesn't make sense.

This is it for Kulmiye, their days are numbered. If the useless wadani hammers this scandal home they will win next election, but am afraid the deal is legally can't be undone.

Yep, the ictiraaf dream is over. It’s time we crawl
back to our leader Farmaajo and ask for our share in the 4.5 system and speaker of parliament in the FGS.

This is it for Kulmiye, their days are numbered. If the useless wadani hammers this scandal home they will win next election, but am afraid the deal is legally can't be undone.

I think the reason that quite a lot of people have become dubious about the deal is that the government (as was its predecessor) weren't forthcoming with information about the deal ( and many other policy decisions) and when they do provide, it was through a shambolic public relations exercises which had made what information disclosed go over the people's heads. Resulting in many making extremely dubious assumptions and increase in unpopularity.

At the directionless event the minister muddled through the question answer session and was totally unprepared and at times dug holes for himself, having brought no data to back up his answers and reasonings or at least to seem credible.
In any other democracy, soon as (what must have felt for him an interrogation rather than an exercise of public engagement) event finishes he would have been sending CVs for employment.

This whole Berbera business is puzzling. There is more to it then meets the eye.

Had the government been a bit more forthcoming about the deal the air of suspicion that surrounds it would have disappeared.

As for the opposition parties they also suck at the art of public relation nor have sound political antidote and are as dubious as the one in government. Hence, why they wont be able to take advantage about this scandalous state of affairs and boost their election chances.

It was a good-intentioned advice sxb. Xplaya, is pushing 50 and has no day job. His opinions hardly matter.

Isaaq are political novices- they could have dominated Somali politics.

You can spin it whatever way you want, the only thing we can take as concrete evidence is what Sacad Ali Shire has said. To the regular geeljire, this might sound like a great deal whereas the more educated will find it to be appaling. Cashuurtan aad sheegeysid waa imisa? Maxaa lagu heshiiyey? Please explain with evidence presented by the corrupt dowlad.

Folk gotta realise that all Somali politicians puposely underestimate revenues and pocket the difference amongst themselves......this is Somali politics 101.

The iidoor should be satisfied with their unrecognised clan..........did they really expect to have their cake and eat it too? :)
