Who’s considered a Somalilander aka Ictiraaflander? What if Dir decide to develop their region on their own accord with no permission from anyone...Crux of the issue.

This just looks good on paper, if Somaliland goverment doesn't take part then is not feasible. Some people havnt learned lessons from the countless promised and signing development plan. Even if they came to fruition they hardly came out as planned.

No doubt this would make somaliland stronger as they will gain more money from it.

On the hand djibouti is trying key word TRYING, to undermine Somaliland as they see berbera port development a threat to their own port.

Dp world will invest more and more developing berbera to beat the competition now and it worked out a nice desl on beglhalf of somaliland. Another thing is with sudan polictics problem. Ismaciil omaar gelleh will be more carefull now. There's politic reforms swepping the horn and east africa.
No kid the aim of the project is to make those regions economically independent from somaliland by connecting them to Djibouti and Ogadenia headquarter Jigjiga. This "project" is a Trojan horse that should be killed on the spot.

It is beneath me to talk to you. You report to Jeegaanta, and they report back to me. Let’s be clear of the chain of command.

Yes, we are the strongest in the Somali peninsula. We can goose step all the way to F*cking street where your momma built reputation of being the hardest working whore north of the equator.

French whore last time you had a skirmish with Eritrea their women units chased you all the way home to daddy French. You are a minor clan , Ciise was a naked clan till very recently where their women prance around with their socks like pendulous boobs. Keep milking legionnaire penis where your daily sustenance comes from. you are still a colony.

Dir can’t lift a finger inside Somaliland without my day so. Stick to the french oven. If hawiye can take your land and burn your elders, you are mad to think you can try to have your way with me. Dir is at the mercy of who ever is in charge kid

Mouth-watering project but risky one, and the risk is far greater than the benefit. I believe S/land should deal this with great caution. Abiye is a snake(using card after card) while farmaajo is clueless.

You hate mamaasan , isaaq and the Djibouti government More than Palestinians hate the jews. You are laangaab yonis mousa who are persecuted in Djibouti . Your people are officially known as pashtun meaning Foreigners by geele himself. Your biggest dream is to one day destroy khadra xayd cartel . How come you can debate isaaq men when you are owned by isaaq women. Yes ciise are great people but you are not Noble ciise , you are Soo raac . Only me can speak for Dir , sit back and relax .

its sad isaaqs do not want awdal to have a road and access to international markets, their tribalism is showing.

Look at xplaya convulsing at the fact that the road could mean the death of berbera port, if somalilanders were given a real choice, none would use berbera the east would use bossaso, and the west would use djibouti city. Somalilanders know this and force people to use berbera by force, its their only income that the state makes. the uae still didnt upgrade the port at all.

somaliland could have built the awdal highway but choose not to because somaliland is not made to build up all the regions. good for somalia djibouti and ethiopia for coming together.

My own thought on this new development is that Ethiopia is preparing to export the oil and gas in the Somali State.

Djibouti may have convinced them to export it via Loyada.

Now Ethiopia needs ways to bring the Gadabursi and Issa online since the pipe needs to run through Gadabursi territory and hence the need to connect the corridor to Borama.

With Ethiopia signature, Hargeisa administration has no room to make any noise. They were happy to give Ethiopia free 19% but now things are much more important with oil and gas at stalk. It has been outmaneuvered. There's nothing it can do or say except perhaps send Muse and Saylaci for "symbolic" ribbon cutting. They can never disobey Addis Ababa.

Ethiopia needs reliable port outlets more than ever with the turmoil in Sudan. No one knows if Sudan will ever overcome it's current chaos with various groups and actors all trying to get to the top.

Port Sudan may go offline.

Djibouti has thus far proved itself to be the most reliable.
ethiopia said they will move 100% of the oil to djibouti and not somaliland, somaliland is finished economically.

No sxb......I disagree, sl region has a bright future after this 30 year futile quest for secession is abandoned.

Berbera still has the possibility of becoming the premiere port of the horn.......by serving the entire Somali peninsula.

The Djibouti-Borama-Jigga project has opened a lot of peoples eyes to regional and Somali cooperation.

The tribal bigots like Xplaya are a dying breed....he wakes up in a druken stupor everyday believing it's 1988.

Gotto love Sahal's conspiracy theories.

Al Murtad has always had melt downs. You will never see him normal in any topic.

Kids avoid drugs and alcohol.

As well as this corridor, there is need for Maydh-Ceerigabo-Oodweyne-Daroor-Jigjiga one and another one from Bosaaso-Las Anod-Goday.

Btw EU funding some road rehabilitations. Keywords: Regional Integration and one of the first regional corridors is this Loyada-Jigjiga. Where is the fake UAE and DP World? I said it and I will say again, they just secured Berbera to make sure there is no other port in the region that would divert traffic from Jabel Ali.

Nothing will happen without the blessing of the somaliland government as they militarily Control the land. A road from borama to Djibouti is no problem to somaliland. It will have no effect on berbera as at the lawyacado border there is a large tax to pay on goods passing the border. If Djibouti want a free trade agreement with somaliland that's another thing which wouldn't happen as it would be dangerous to the djiboutian dictatorship.

It's so funny seeing the so called nationalists that want to see Ethiopia and Djibouti try to annex parts of somaliland. The bottom line is they have absolutely no power to do so. All we need to do is give a base to afar on lawyacado which is a stones throw away from Djibouti City and the fat man will wave a white flag.

Another thing is people don't understand the geography of awdal or gadabursi claimed territory. 90% of gadabursi live in Ethiopia and the border town of borama where they have their farms which is their livelyhood. Then there is a large uninhabited mountain range. Then theirs the coast which is probably the least populated place in all Somali inhabited lands and cisse gadabursi and habar awal all live there.
The reality is nin aan habar awal ahayn xabad kama ridikaro xeebaha awdal. That area was a strong hold for the snm. If gadabursi ever act up they will simply be kicked out of borama into Ethiopia and the border will be closed essentially making 90% of gadabursi outside of somaliland. We will then start talks if they want to be silly or not like in the 90s. That's why no gadabursi will ever lift a finger against isaaq unless they are sure we've been defeated.
