XOG: Ceelka Shidaalka Baardheere

Postby UgaaskaBarakaysan » Wed Jan 22, 2020 11:08 pm

There are proven reserves of Natural Gas and Oil that were found in the area between Bardheere iyo fafaaxduun during the kacaan days by Royal Dutch Shell company, the operation was estimated by shell as a significant deposit. Very interesting interview with a former kacaan official. Reer Gedo isku tashda we got a lot of potential to tap into biidnillah. :eat:

With this and Mandera Lugh basin from Luuq ila Mandera (Ceelwaaq). Marehan will eat good in the foreseeable future with arable farmland and two rivers. Beesha is truly blessed.

The mineral and hydrocarbon resources in the Gedo region are abundant but unfortunately like the rest of Somalia it's been largely unexplored. The size of the region is similar to that of a small country and is bigger than the lower and middle jubbas combined, so the landmass itself along with the geological makeup guarantees significant deposits of natural resources along with the two rivers of the Daua and the Jubba (Largest freshwater body in the country) and borders with both Kenya and Ethiopia it's quite strategic on many fronts. The lack of exploration however will change as the situation shifts. The security in the region is as strong as ever and continuing to improve and the region also has great political stability since the district commissioners of nearly all districts have agreed to work together and met with the top echelon of the Federal Government to devise a sensible and success-oriented strategy going forward.

Who is this guy being interviewed? Does anyone know? Didn't they also attempt something similar at Shabeel Duulaa and then abandon it in a similar fashion?
