Farmaajo Should Do These Before His Term is Over

Postby Jabuutawi » Wed Jul 29, 2020 4:08 pm

1- appoint a woman or .5'er as a PM. He knows very well his chances of re-election is slim to none. Think outside the box.
2- recognize provincial states on paper like SSC, Makhakir (sic), and Awdal as legitimate part and parcel of federal government of Somalia.
3- declare Somalia needs 3 separate capitals, administrative, judiciary and economic capitals.
4- declare AMISOM has failed its mission, thus should leave the country.
5- invite Al-Shabab to the negotiating table (Taliban is holding meetings with U.S., Somalia's government should do the same).
6- give ultimatum to 'Somaliline', either participate fully within the framework of the federal government or face the consequences, both short and long-terms.

Status quo of the last 30 years is not working. Time is of the essence. Major course change is required for Somalia's viability.

Politics is all about legacy - for good or bad. My advice is to implement these points with or without winning re-election.

Monetarily, he is doing fine. They all are. Get in office, get rich is the mantra in African politics, some more so than others. Look at the Finance minister, I believe, who built 6-story building in Hargaysa at the cost of $12 million. I bet no salary pays that much, it’s all ill-gotten goods.

Yes with #2
I think Sool and Sanaag and Ceyn should be recognized as a region and Awdal and let the rest of Somaliland go

That low quality building didn't cost $12 million to build; it's the figure the owner is dreaming to sell it. One can buy a far better and quality building in a Western city in Europe or N. America.

A 6 story building in Somalia will at most cost 500k or a million at best

You're ignorance is making you look very stupid. Somaliland is a real and indivisible country unlike the toilet of humanity "Somalia" that is a fragmented failed state

If the people in those regions don’t want secession and want to be part of Somalia then why sweat it

Somaliland is one. Wherever Somaliland goes, she goes as ONE. Majority rules.

If Lower Juba wanted to join Kenya would you accept this

Somaliland should not divide the Harti. It should also annex PL

You could say the same about Somaliland, saying majority rules and Somalia is one

A few days doesn't constitute independence. It wasn't even a week.
