Is Somaliland right in hailing Israel and UAE diplomatic deal?

Postby IRONm@N » Mon Aug 17, 2020 7:01 pm

Somaliland joined the rest of the world in expressing their support for the historic normalization of relations between the United Arab Emirates and Israel on Thursday.

The United Arab Emirates became the first Gulf Arab country to reach a deal on normalizing relations with Israel, capping years of discreet contacts between the two countries in commerce and technology.

Until now Israel has had no diplomatic relations with Gulf Arab countries.

Somaliland envoy to Kenya Bashe Omar Awil said
“As a peace loving people we support the historic normalization agreement between the United Arab Emirates and Israel in exchange for taking off annexation of the table(suspend applying sovereignty to areas of the West Bank). The agreement is a good example of alliances between regional countries that are interested in regional stability and cooperation, and emphasizes eternal aspiration of reaching peace with neighbors,” Omar who has previously represented Somaliland in the United Arab Emirates stated.

If you are getting something in return for the attention seeking, it's understandable but Israel couldn't give a fok about sl. So why turn ur back on the Holly land palestine?

SL has limitations. For instance, when the IC summons president Biixi to talks with Somalia, his only choice is to comply.

Only a thick animal can't see that regardless of the system of vertical governance Somaliland and Somalia will never reunite as one country ever again

Somaliland are right in pursuing their interests in any way they see fit.

The days of caping and tap dancing for the Arabs is long gone.

Farmaajo's diplomatic blunder in refusing to meet Netanyahu or even shaking his hand will come back to haunt Somalia in the near future.

Personally I would have bear hugged Netanyahu.
