Mashallah very beautiful land, truly a forest within a desert. Solving the lack of information on these places is winning one front of the multi-layered war that's being waged on us. Can you show us the extend of our border on all sides?
This is the map of the somali region, i'd appreciate it if you approximately highlight the region marehan settle.
Unless I made a mistake or two, this is an almost finalized version of the geocoding that I did there;

Probably the biggest surprise to me, besides how completely underestimated Marehan's extent of settlement is in central Somalia AND ESPECIALLY EASTERN ETHIOPIA, is the level of ignorance surrounding Balanbale's geography. Even by other Marehan, there is complete ignorance so much so that even I used to showcase it.

I enjoyed learning random stuff like the name behind "Bali Kibir" which I never knew. Fyi: I won't disclose it, but niman reer Dalal ah baa kibir isku dilay meeshaas. :shock: :lol:

That's me in the shadow taking video at Bali Kibir

It's actually a great watering hole and a reserve for Marehan nomads in the worst drought years when they have to move in towards near Cabudwaaq town.

I noticed you put calen there. I didn't know mx lived there :shock: . This is also the first time i learned about lahelow. It seems these areas are where we and ogaden mix.

Thanks for the info saxib. :clap: A lot of confusion has surrounded these areas for a long time. I was waiting a long time for this, for a map this detailed and this clear.

Saddam, please, do not engage people that I have blocked in my topic or generally diseased human beings who require attention through solicitation by negativity.

Yes we live in Caleen and Lahelow, in particular Rer Cismaan/Marehan with Makaahiil. The Ugaas has been there multiple times at the invitation of Rer Cismaan.

He wasn’t worth a reply. His obsession with one clan indicts internal trauma he needs to deal with. Duly noted

I realized something sxb. Ignoring is beauty. It is powerful. It is dignifying. It is respectful towards yourself as well as respectful towards your detractor.

More of the area around Abudwak. I don't ever want to come across any Marehan kid who doesn't know his geography. :)

You know what I realized? Marehan and Dhulbahante place naming are very, very similar. Laasa Caanood/Laas Caanood, Ariadays/Adhicadeeye, Shiilomadoow, etc. Maybe we brought all the names from Nugaal. We seem to have taken it to Gedo too---Tuulo Barwaaqo,Ceelcadde, Shabeel Duulaa, etc.
