In Memory of Col. Ahmed Dhuaale

1932-19998 Col. Ahmed Dhuaale was born into a Dulbahante middle class family in Kismayio during the Italian Colonial Era.

He was an MP during the 1960s civilian government representing the countryside of Kismayio

As a Colonel in the Army he took part in he defence of the country during the 1964 war with Ethiopia.

1972-1985 he was chairman of the Socialiist Parliament and running prisons for politcal opponenst of the Socialist Military government.


In 1995 General Aideed appointed him as a interior minister in his attempt for reconciliation with the Darod clan in the National Unity Government.


Mr Dhuaale died in his farm in the Lower Jubba in 1998.
