Postby Gubbet » Sun Dec 04, 2022 12:06 pm

Can someone who is preferably Ogaden especially Rer Cabdille and especially from Korahe or Dhanan give me their perspective concerning the events in Qabri Dahare?

The mayor of Qabridahar Cabdirisaaq Sh Cawil is MX, Rer Yuusuf not Rer Diini, he was recently elected as member of DDS parliament.

This protest is another attack on Cagjar, on the outside they are protesting against the mayor of qabridahar and the governor, but really they are after Cagjar.

I think Rer Abdille have a right to campaign for their re-ascendency to DDS throne, but they should stop using the Cagjar waa MX slogan, what have we benefited from Cagjar ? nothing. Its just unncessarily throwing us under the bus, they should have stayed with the Cagjar waa dir slogan.

Everytime Rer Abdille calls Cagjar MX it is political expedience for him, because he isn't doing jack shit for MX and they giving him credit for nothing. Actually during Abdi Iley shit got done along the border even though he was a butcher, I don't mind another Abdi iley without the negatives of course.

Balwarama?

My question was entirely sincere. I am very interested in hearing the Rer Abdille perspective here verbalized by one as we all have verbalized it.

Hulkujir,

Yes, that information is note worthy and relevant for rerecording in the public record, but like the rest of Sade here, we have known this about Cawil ever since he became head of Qabri Daharre 3 1/2 years ago first brought to us by Mustafee.

In fact, it introduced me to a unique phenomenon part of Sade adaptation to the nuisance of the colonial boundary I never knew anything about and I would say the majority of modern Sade today are still not truly aware of. Subsequently we have had the development of the MP of Mandera East, Hussein Waytan, who confirmed the historical trajectory of that historical Marehan response to having international borders inconveniently implemented on top of them.

I identified this for the "Colonel;"

The Mayor of Qabri Dahare and his elders with their Ugaas the Ugas of Sade Bari

Sbashi,

People do not understand the degree to which international border politics between Italy-Ethiopia and Italy-Britain and Ethiopia-Britain concerning Somalis affected Marehan more than any other Somali clan.

It is not Ogaden at all.

It was Marehan that was most affected.

1. The boundary between Kenya and Somalia.

2. The Triangle point that is boundary between Kenya-Somalia-Ethiopia

3. The entire southern boundary between Ethiopia and Somalia.

4. Almost the majority of the northern boundary between Ethiopia and Italian Somaliland north of the Shabelle.

I mean this is how historically illiterate we are as a nation and shoddy our scholarship that people do not understand how much of Somalia's boundary literally reflects Marehan as a microcosm of the larger ethnic land claims.

Marehan is not "AT" the boundaries of Somalia.

The boundaries of what is Somalia today was contested "AT" Marehan.

You think when British banished Marehan from Kenya and said "we made this line because of you, now stay on the other side" that Marehan nomads are going to simply starve and die of thirst on drought years or they will strategize and use tools at their disposal to overcome this imposed nuisance trying to control the movement of their grazing?

[One of the single most dominant female Kenyan politicians right now who is Degoodiye is Marehan and she is from my sub-clan of reer Siyaad

I have not met her, but Sadeboi who used to be here has and she is more Tuulo Barwaaqo than he is.

Every Marehan juffo couple families from among them to "embed" in the other side of the border and facilitate easy movement across the artificial border for access during the general migratory movement between Jilaal dryness and Gu rains and especially be safely net when Gu Gu rains fail and drought stalks which was possible every 2 years.

That happened all across the focking border and the embedded know who they are and affirm it and continue being aware of their original "mission."

Even many post-colonial Marehan don't understand or are even aware of it as an actual organized strategy.

One of the funniest things of my participation in this forum concerns the "Dhuusamareeb" issue.

I would argue about it and then I decided let me understand this issue myself and I was going to inform it all.

As soon as I understood it, waan iska aamusay. Shib! To this second, I have not disclosed anything what resulted from my "research."

If the elders let ithe myth permeate for a reason, who am I to disclose it.

The only reason the Reer Yusuf Mayor of Qabri Dahare can even do something like this is a reflection of how much things have cooled between Marehan and Ethiopia and the original hostilities necessitating strategies to continue accessing their grazing land have tremendously declined.

Yahye and Moorif are real and their forms are your forms. :blessed:

https://www.somalinet.com/forums/viewto ... 0#p5000352

Now my question to Rer Abdille is essentially--help me understand in your own words what the issue is, because everything about "Cawil" was part of the public record."

I wanted a Rer Abdille to tell me if the issue is about Cawil being "Marehan" or the issue about something else using Cawil being "Marehan."

Cawil being Marehan has never been a secret. We were discussing him here in a public online discussion space from the moment he became the head of Qabri Daharre's administration couple years ago.

So what is actually going on and I preferebly want to get the "Rer Cabdille" verbalization for the strength of their grievance now being displayed in Korahe.

To follow up on this;

This is the first time the current young Ugas of Sade Bari (the northern Marehan) came to Qabridahar coinciding with the same time as Cawil taking over the command of Qabri Dahar

Cawil and some of the most powerful personalities in Qabridahar welcomed him as their "blood" Ugaas. Most were Marehan/Rer Yusuf.

A local reporter, but not from the "Bah Ibraahim Ugaas" hosts of Mayor Cawil's Rer Yusuf, controversially titles it "Shirka Beelweynta Mareexaan Sade Darood ee Qabridahare" (The Greater Marehan Sade Darod Clan Conference of Qabridahare).

Image

Besides the Mayor of Qabridahar, the picture also includes one of the most respected and powerful elders of Qabridahar, Hussein Dhego-Cade, the man whose name Bah-Ibrahim Ugas take "oathes."

The discussion of the topic immediately spikes with energy---although in a remarkably diplomatic, if icy, tone as it is clear all sides were extremely sensitive to making this any more controversial.

Yet no one, neither the reporter nor his discussion opponents were in disagreement that these men, and in fact, some of the most important constituency groups in Qabridahar are "Marehan by blood."

The reporter himself identifies a member in the picture from his own diya group part of a large embedded "Marehan" group perfectly reconized and affirmed, like the Rer Yusuf embedded with Bah-Ibrahim Ugaas---all of 4 continuing generations.

The reporter and his initial detractor agree to happily end "These are Marehan men, and many of them in Qabridahar, of brotherly blood origin but that we affirm, love, respect, and have accepted as family to live among and with us."

https://www.facebook.com/CIRGUB/photos/ ... 2/?type=3

It is fascinating, but I bring this up for 3 reasons;

1. The testimony of "4" generations is very clear timeframe implicating what I have come to found out about Marehan's socio-cultural responses to colonialism and having been intolerably burdened by being made the border.

2. The recognition of Cawil's unique circumstance, and not just him personally but entire linked group, from Qabardahar locals and personalities having very frank discussion on Facebook.

3. And just as importantly, the acceptance and perfect legitimacy of the circumstance of his carrying Marehan blood yet endowed with Qabridahar equity and not just him, but respected elders, personalities and entire constituencies who are paying mag in Qabridahar with Rer Abdille (as they should be as Rer Abdille is everything to them but their "biological" sire---remember the one who raises you is your consequential "father" not necessarily the "sire" whomever they be).

So---what exactly is going on in Qabri Dahar that has the first guy in my post speaking like that?

Balwarama?

The Mayor' s family, the Reer Yuusuf of Marexan, pay mag and identify with, the Reer Ugaas section of the Reer Magan Warfaa, subclan. A relatively more Lanndheere, Reer Xirsi section of the Reer Cilmi Warfaa subclan are creating problems for the Mayor of Qabridahare. Because they want that position for their Subclan and are using him being Marehan by blood as a rallying cry and an effort to delegitimise him in the eyes of the public.
The Mayor represents the Reer Ugaas, whom he identifies with as part of their share, in the power sharing game among Reer Warfaa and Reer Abdile of Qoraxay, in political representation.

For further clarity: The guy in the video you posted, hails from the Reer Dalal Magan Warfaa, section. One of the Laandheere sections of the Reer Warfaa, subclans.
The Reer Ugaas are relatively small in number but one of the most fearsome and highly respected, sections. They are also, the Royal Family of Ogaden and the Family of Ugaas Nuur-cubudhiye. They belong to Bah-Xawaadle section of Reer Magan Warfaa, together with Reer Dalal Magan.
The Reer Xirsi are the family of Axmed-madoobe. They belong to the Reer Cilmi Warfaa Subclan. All of these sections belong to the Reer Warfaa Xirsi clan of the Reer Cabdile. The Warfaa Xirsi clan, all of them belong, is also sometimes referred to as the Ugaases of Ogaden.

Balwarama everything makes sense based on your explanation except for the guy in the Video. Waa tuug khaa'in oo rabbi ka furtay. He is really attacking his Bah-Xawaadle brothers Rer Ugaas for no reason. At least the Rer Hersi stand to gain a mayorship.

Altogether this seems to be an "intra-rer Warfaa" problem in which "Marehan" and "Cagjar" are being brought in to be used against Rer Ugaas because they have the mayorship.

Again, that guy in the video waa tuug khaa'in ahoo rabbi ka furtay. Rer Ugaas wadkiisa way inay mariyaan!

Wallahi waa yaab how much disproportional energy and shacuur is manifesting based on small little tafaxood between sub-sub-sub-sub clans in local politics.
