Ethiopian ministery of planning today refered Somaliland as the republic of Somaliland

Lady can u post it its on twitter

i think ethiopia isnt just trolling they are commited to the deal
Don't read too much into things.
Monitor the statements of the Western powers.

Sl needs to stop pretending they're already independent.
This is a bankrupt policy that has failed for 33 years.
Play the political game and demand a UN supervised independence referendum.

It will be extremely difficult for the hagites to refuse, especially since the donor countries have enormous influence. No doubt Ethiopia will work the IGAD/ AU angle. The hagites can easily be politically check mated.

Sl must abandon the old dumdum politics of...." I believe therefore I am", and pursue a legal, rational political strategy.

Abkhazia is way ahead of FantasyLand in terms of recognition.

The following is a list of political entities that formally recognise Abkhazia.

UN member states

Russia recognised Abkhazia on 26 August 2008 after the Russo-Georgian War.
Nicaragua recognised Abkhazia on 5 September 2008.
Venezuela recognised Abkhazia on 10 September 2009.
Nauru recognised Abkhazia on 15 December 2009.
Syria recognised Abkhazia on 29 May 2018.

Khalid sxb, April Fools day has already come and gone.
When will the iidoors stop this nonsense?
It's already been pointed out years ago, even by iidoor academics, Ethiopia will be the last country to recognise SL. They have SL over a barrel.......they will never relinquish this .

Ethiopia is not the Ethiopia that was led by Meles Ethiopia doesnt want to pay jabuuti 3 billion dollars every year meles had a grudge against afewerqi so he wanted to bleed his xabashi inadeeer and ddint care to give jabuuti big share of the cake . in terms of port bussines ma fahantay , itoobiya loses now nothing with recognising Somaliland because way fahmen the bluff of the walanweyn the eeleys defied the bunker so did bugland on Ethiopia , the whole reason why meles didnt want to recognise SL he thought that he would lose grip over both Somalia and Somaliland altogether. But Somaliland is willing to give Ethiopia what it dream so much a sea out let a good position in the horn of Africa , against their foes The Egyptians the Eritreans etc Ethiopia even is willing to join the Arab league to balance the Egyptians there and SL is their ally we will suppport them untill the bitter end if they keep their promise the recognition great ties great economic ties military ties cooperation support all of that are what we are willing to achieve all in all Itoobiya changed now Ethiopia is led by the Oromo King abiye Ahmed no longer tigrayans

Even if Ethiopia recognises sl that still won't get you a UN seat, IMF membership etc. It will just be an illegal act by a hostile foreign government.

SL will still be politically isolated in the world.
In fact it will become even more dependent upon Ethiopia than it already is.

Anyhow, I wish the iidoors well in their endeavours.
This quest for recognition has become a sl religion.

Ethiopia and Somaliland have cooperated for decades, demonstrating that Somaliland is not dependent on Ethiopia. Our aim is to gain international recognition and legitimacy for our country according to international law, while Ethiopia seeks access to the sea. It is important to note that Somaliland has a stronger case for independence compared to both Eritrea and South Sudan. South Sudan lacked defined colonial borders, and Eritrea never existed as an independent entity. Before Italian colonization, it was part of Abyssinia, followed by a British mandate, and then under Ethiopian hegemony.

In contrast, Somaliland never shared a country with Somalia before colonialism. It was briefly an independent country before voluntarily uniting with Somalia, which is now a failed state. Western Sahara is recognized by over 50 countries, and more than 100 countries recognize Palestine. The UN itself does not recognize countries; it is a body that countries can join. Recognition comes from other nations.

Considering Kosovo's unilateral declaration of independence, which has been widely accepted, Somaliland's unilateral declaration of independence is not illegitimate. We have a strong legal case for our sovereignty. Ethiopia would not face any significant issues by questioning the legality of the forced and ineffective union between Somaliland and Somalia.

Khalid sxb, we've heard all this case for sl recognition blah blah blah for decades.

Real politik dictates that in order for secessionist states to be recognised they need to either take it from the original state by force of arms ie Eritrea, or have powerful western/ Russian backers.

Sl has neither......thats why you've been running around in circles for more than 30 years.

Two facts

1. Somaliland can/Will remain an isaaq de facto state for the near foreseeable future.
2. Those other Somalilanders who took the opposite side Will have their own struggle to be recognised in Mogadishu.

In a nutshell we are both looking for for recognition. And the isaaqs have the international attention. That's what matters for me as a extremist isaaq. I don't give a shiit xitaa haday somaliland kusoo ururto reer kayaga oo keliya. It's thousand times better for us.

The only time we can be threatened is if the Islamist isaaqs we ousted takes over Somalia completely. In that case we will voluntarily surrender without any bloodshed. The moment we see Harti falling we have no hope. All these Harti (read dhabayaco) who thinks they are the enemies of somaliland are actually the great wall for us. We will never fall until they fall. Mark my words.

The question is how long you Southerners and EastEnders can keep trying to defeat the Islamists. ? The longer you do the better for us. Keep the good job. Because without them no Somali qabiil can take over our territory.

Good luck with whatever you do.....we have no real animosity. We just want to be left alone in our villages to manage our affairs. No major clan will ever accept to be under another clan in Somalia....never.

The south has a long way to go before being a functional state. How long this takes is anybody's guess.
Somalia will continue to be fragmented collection of regional tribal enclaves.

As long as there is a modicum of security and half decent economy.....we Somalis will survive.
Lascaanood is a case in point. The occupation and war with the iidoors is a distant memory. The city and people are rebuilding, the economy is booming, diaspora investors are returning from the four corners of the Earth.

We are done in lascaanod , I am not sure else where. We are done there because even if we defeat you again we are not gaining any thing from you economically. Why would I rule forcefully a place that's not generating any income for me.
