It is that time of the year.....Yeah you guessed right!
Its January 1, our birthday. Don’t even try to deny it.
I have good and bad memories about January 1.
I remember my younger days , We were bad
ass kids, on time we got arrested and the cops
Were about to take us in, until they noticed it
Was all our birthdays. So they let all seven of us go.
The embarrassing sh’it was, when we got back
To school after the break. All Somalis lined
Up to get lunch an as soon as we put our
Pin #, the machine will yell out HAPPY BIRTHDAY.
Imagine over a hundred Somalis at the school.
