Mengistu was a better President.

He left when the jig was up without firing a shot. Addis Abba was spared fighting. Ethiopian Airlines maintained its schedule. The rebels took power and formed a government.

A classy gentleman who believed more in saving the nation than his skin.

Abdiwahab

You are correct Mengistu was a conviction politician who genuinely believed in his country while Siyad Barre was essentially a selfish tribal leader.

But if he had left early do you think your hawiye savages would have had the decency to sit down and talk like human beings about what is good for the country?

Doubt it. I think they would have descended on each other like the lowly sab savages that they are. Remember Xamar was almost INTACT when you defeated the lion we Isaqs defanged for you. You focking Liberians go to Tanzania and let us Darrood and Isaqs share the place properly between us.

What do you say? And each of you will get one donkey and two donkeyeses(one for a wife and the other as water carrier)

Gaylol: The SNM (ceeb Naag Mooye) did not defang the national army. All cities in Idoorland were under the control of the Army and the SNM were still hiding in the bushes taking pock shots at them. It was the USC capture of Xamar and subsqeuent orders to dismantle the Northern units, that the SNM was able to stroll into Xaargeisa.

If Afweyne had left in say 1989 when the Italians promised him a sizeable pension and retirment in Italy, there would have been no need for the USC to move into Banadir at all. The rebels would have complied with the Tripatriate Accords to form a transitional government.

Gaylol, but a Godless Eeydoor like you wouldn't know anything about it. Like the Greatest Eeydoor Igaal who ran around in circles after the assasination of his Darood Boss and President instead of crushing Afweyne and the 1969 revolution. Igaal was looking for a new Darood master to replace his boss instead of assuming control and saving the nation from Afweyne.

But all is well, now that Riyaale the great Gadabuursi Dog Catcher is in charge.

^^ caqligaagu ma inaasuu noqday. Ninbaa gadal kugu yidhaa markaasaad umad dhan caayaysaa including MARXUUN CIGAAL ( a dead muslim).

SNM and USC have deep and well connected relationship beyond your imagination.

One thing is fact though if Barre would have left in 1989, the mooryaan wouldn't have put foot in the big house.

Why is that we're discussing about a former dead president, Don't you think he should rest in peace. without people concurring on his behalf.

^^this is truly sad. U turned a discussion about Siad Barre, one of the worst leaders the world has seen, into insulting man whom u don't know anything about. I hope you are repenting for your sins. I really thought u were a decent person. U are just like mad-god, the semi-illiterate qabiil worshiper who tries to make qabiil streotypes into facts.

Siyad Barre(allaha ha unaxareestee) was a patriotic man who loved his country. He was the first president who wanted to unifiy the 'five somalia', while the sissy Abdirashid and the other guy didn't even think about doing dat. Because of him, many African countries got their independance. His hey days, the somali currancy was like wat the dollar is today. Of course, there were bad policies and bad decision but dat comes with the territory. Somaliyeey, are u better off today? I think the answer is unanimously No. He was onced quoted saying, " AAN KADAGAY (KURSIGA) WAX IDHAAMA KEESADA" Today, dat holds to be sooooooo true. He is gone, but wat do we have today?

Ninyahoow, grow some brain cells and don't let qabiil dictate your life. Some brotherly advice.
