Omar ibn al Khattab must have been a smart guy. I'll bet he was fighting an uphill struggle the whole time.

A friend of mine was a special forces advisor to a Saudi National Guard armored unit in Desert Storm. And I shit you not, this actual conversation took place, only instead of maintaining a nuclear reactor, it was maintenance of the tanks. Tanks are maintenance heavy, and they won't work for long if you don't take proper care of them.

So maybe Muslims shouldn't engage in this kind of fatalistic "It's Allahs will" nonsense, but they definately do, and in a big way.

Actually, he would be fighting an uphill struggle today if he were alive.

Besides, did you ever ask yourself whether or not those soldiers were good Muslims themselves?

If you were to ask them to drink beer with the expats, would they do it?

Would they go to the Red Light district with you without hesitation?

The only country being "punished" is Iran because everyone knows it is trying to develop nuclear weapons and North Korea, because it already has developed nuclear weapons (as it not a signatory). Pakistand and India did feel the heat. India is off the hook, because it has proven to be a responsible custodian. There is concern, however, about Pakistan because the society is fractious, and Muslims have a problem putting loyalty to state first. This makes it difficult for a Muslim state to be a responsible custodian of anything.

and they are liekly to go for a Pebble , High Temprature design reactor

Hey dont underestimate Brazil , it one of the new up and coming Superpowers along with India and Maybe Indonesia if thier Economy improves.


Brazil is in a differant Leauge to the Philipines, or other Third world countries, becuase it builds and Designs its own reactors.
It has fully mastered Nuclear Technology and the fuel cycle, they have already done what Iran wants to do in the next 6 years.



Brazils Ballistic Missle technology was also ahead of India's until they shelved the missile program due to american pressure.
The accepted some advanced Sattelite and Computer technology in exchange however.
