Mad Mac

Egypt did not trust Syria and vise versa thats what gave isreal the victory
in all the wars, also the arab leaders were running the operations even thought they were qualified enough to run the day to day operations.
on the israeli side it was the likes of Sharon and Dayan who were conducting the military operations.
Israel was fighting for existence while the Arab leaders were fighting for
prestige and to undermine each other in order to put their names in history books while the israelis were fighting as a one while the arabs were fighting agains each other.
Saudia Arabia can match any army if they realy want and train their soldiers as the way Hisbulah train their fighters but then again Saudi Arabia is all about to keep the royal family in power and nothing else so they will never built a powerfull army that can match isreals might army.

This is not a correct interpretation. Unity of command was an issue in 48, but in 73. In 73 the operations were well planned and well executed. Israel had two critical advantages that the Arabs were unable to overcome:

a. Israeli internal lines of communication

b. Israeli air superiority.

The Arabs also had a chain of command that was far too centralized and inflexible. Lastly, the Arabs were fighting for their honor, the Jews were fighting for their lives. Big difference.

There's some good books on this war. I have one at home I'll recommend to you.

Mad Mac

Asad was a defence Minister at that time eying the presidency and never trusted Nassir who was regard as the champion of the arab
Pan-nationalism by masses of the Arab pple.
Do you know that king Faisal Bin Abdul aziz excuted 14 yemens spying for Nassir after the 6 day war.

Qudhac
Anwar Sadat, not Nassir, was president of Egypt in 1973.

There were always trust issues between the Arabs. Even Salahudin had internal problems. This is an Arab thing. Always was this way, always will be.

But the lack of trust did not have a negative effect on the Arab campaign. They were just flat out outfought. Like I said, most of the Arabs were fighting over land issues that did not concern the average Arab soldier, who was also poorly educated and, for the most part, poorly trained. The Israeli soldiers, on the other hand, were well educated, well trained, and were fighting for their lives. Big difference.

Mad

Nassir was in charge during the 6 day war, Asad was defence minister in Syria, Faisal was crowned 1964 and he was king during the war in 1967.
Sadat became president in 1970 and was incharge of the 1973 war and Golda Meir was prime minister of isreal.
there was this TV war decomentry which clearly showed that Asad had other things in mind and he never trusted Nasir who arrested him in Egypt at the time of the union when he was an officer.
He never hide his displeasure of Nassirs powers which make Syrians inferior to the Egyptions, and he was the architact who broke that Union.
On the other hand Isreal had democratic elected goverment and was surrounded by hostile dictators who was their soul aim was to undermine each other and with a young army that will do everthing to servive as they knew their lives were endanger.

That sum is up. Look at Nemand for the reason why so many Muslims have such a hard time to get their heads around their defeats.

According to maxamed hassnain heykal, the journalist and close friend of Abdulnasir. The decision to go to war in the 73 october war, was
decided upon during asads visit to egypt, and

get this inside an egyptian nightclub, with sadat smoking his usual hashish
and the top egyptian and syrian brass sipping te whiskey.

It was a different time back then.

Muslim leaders are dictators, look at the late Arafat who never united his pple and set on the seat fatah from the start of its creation to the end.
These guys dont have vision any thing but the seat.
Another bitter defeat is that Isreal become not only a super power but the first world under their watch.
Arab leaders dont disagree of the existence of the state of israel but who is the man who is going to bring peace to plastininas, everyone of them wants to be that man.

It wasn't that different. The Hashish highway leads straight to Saudi Arabia and drug use is a MAJOR, if swept under the carpet, problem there.
