i was probably sleeping as it was the middle of the night in Montreal and the next morning i was runing around the house like any other one year old. on a serious note i didnt even know there was a civil war in somalia until 1998 when my grandparents after 20+ years finally decided to pay a visit to Hargeisa. am still baffled as to how a little rebel group overthrew such a dicatator as siyad Barre. how the hell did his army fell werent they one of the strongest in Africa. and than another question is it seems all the Daroods ran to Kismayo why is that. how come they didnt head to Puntland or something and also so by the time the Hawiya war started there wasnt any darood at all in the city. curious very curious. also i need this answered cause i keep hearing the Hawiya war was Abgal VS the H/G and some other hawiy'as combined and thats when the city split to the North and south. ok now that the city was split i wanna know where were the parliament if somalia had one located at or the presdential palace. Surprised

:o

My awoowe sent my aabo to Italy in the 1970s and then my aabo came here in the USA in '79

Last time my dad was in Somalia was in 1981  and that was for vacation

My hooyo moved from Hargeysa to Xamar around 1980 and she left Somalia to the USA in '85

A lot of my family started leaving towards either neighboring countries or the Gulf States....and others were already here in the USA

On December 26th, 1990...I just became 1 years and 3 days

King of Awdal Because North Of Muqdisho Was Enemy Territory.

1nemansquad "Was too young to remember where exactly i was but i was told that to get out we had to be rescued by a bunch of my uncles all this Dhulos military young dudes, one of them was Saado Ali's little brother who got injured on the mission of getting us out; it was really dramatic and complex because we lived in the midst of Mooryaans.

I feel proud whenever i hear about the story of getting us out, because we weren't the only Dhulos family that got rescued like that; Walahi i was told alot of Dhulos families got rescued like that even after Xamar was taken over by the Moryaans; brave motherfockers yo, them young dudes

We stayed in Afgooye for a little bit and left with a whole bunch of other Dhulos families and their militia guarding them at ones headed for Kismayo .."

What a topic! I musta been about 5 years old, we run with the dooros all the way to kismaayo untill the mooryaans captured it robbing people and raping even 90 year old ladies, and we quickly run back to xamar only to find majeerteen people living in our villa claiming to be habar awal Laughing Laughing , wallahi billaahi our habar gidir neibours of more than 30 years used to bully us and our majeerteen guests every day claiming we were hiding faqash in our house, and that we would get bombed any minute every day, untill they got hit by a stray madfac from the abgaal section of town Laughing Laughing . What a focking releif that was man, thank god though it wasn't long before the dhabayocos run to gaalkacao and we run to to burco.
