Qaadisiya, the website that purports to be the mouth-piece of the misguided Islaimic Courts of Somalia, had now shown its true colours. Funded by the a group of Cayr clan business men who are sad about losing their grip on lands in southern Somalia they used to occupy after the unarmed, urbane clans in the Southern parts of Somalia were subjected to ethnic cleansing in the form assassinations, rape and extortion. Such cruel policies gave name and new lease of life to men such as Indhacadde—the security chief of Islamic Courts (his whereabouts is unknown and he has not resigned the position) and Cirfo, ex- self-appointed district commissioner in Afgoye town.
Qaadisya has always sounded like a person who is daydreaming. They spread lies about the situation in parts of Somalia where support for clan based courts was less than 0 percent. They played a false patriotism card while there is no a bone of patriotism in their body. Few days before the so-called Indhacadde fled with the contributions that the Islamic courts agents collected in Europe, he called for foreigners to come to Somalia to wage jihad against Ethiopia. It was ridiculous and misguided attempt to prolong the existence of the Islamic courts. It has failed because it gave the impression that the Islamic Courts of Somalia were not wholly a Somali-dominated organisation, but a group of latter day terrorists who don't care about Somalia and its people. It is their intransigence that forced the hand of Ethiopia and led to the death of thousands of young Somalia who could not even handle the Kalashnikov properly. Misguided, untrained and misused, the young fighters could not face trained and disciplined units of Ethiopia troops. The military fatigue that Hassan Dahir Aweis wore few days before he fled Mogadishu did not inspire the young fighters to fight skilfully. It sad that Qaasidiya paints the war as a legitimate war.
Qaadisiya's franchise to spread lies and hatred under the cloak of religion will not be renewed. In a secret meeting, the Ceyr leadership council concluded that the Islamic courts were a ploy to bring their hegemony in parts of the south to an end. They are wrong. Islamic Courts is a failed religico-political programme with which no one is happy to be associated. But the Ceyr leadership is right to concoct a reason for the failure of the Islamic courts. It is soothing but it has to be reality check. Qaadisya is unconsciously doing that job as it has shown its tribal colours. Enough of spurious fatwas and sermons.
