As an international student you are fully expected to pay for you education unless you have some sort of scholarship which covers your needs other its all up to you .International students are not eligible to apply for federal finance aid program here in the states. Some students are awarded limited finance aid but you still have to be able to cover the rest of the other expense. If you ever decide to come here on September the best schools are mostly in the North.I would recommand the University of Minnestoa its in the midwest. Not only that it has the largest somali population and mostly everyone who lives their is somewhat religous except for few bad apples.Anyway, what are you planning to study here in the states?

...Minnesota is known for its friendly people and is ranked as one of the best and safest places to live in the U.S.

Miss_Sophisticated, i would honestly recommend you to go to school in Little Rock, Arkansas. In Little Rock, there is a univeristy called, University of Arkansas at Little Rock. The students there, are highly intellectualized, and dedicated. Very Happy

Thanks a lot for the tip guys, I wanted to study Undergraduate Psychology and then advance or specialize in Criminal Psychology. But the thing is i can't afford paying for it, the intuition and the accomondation it's just to much. I would love to come to the States to study but can't take the risk of ending up with a degree and at the same time a massive debt so at the moment i am applying at Universities in London because a large part of my expenses will be covered en Alhamdulilaah i have got family over here so i won't have to worry about accomondation.

But once again thanks a lot i'm glad to see that there are more somali people focussed at getting a degree and hopefully insha'allah having a meaningfull future I truly hope the best for you guys.

First thing is you must figure out which state you want to live in. If you want to live near family, friend etc. Then google for all public and private schools in the state. On each schools website they have info on international students tuition and financial aid. Different schools offer different help to internationals. Google scholarship for international students. I hope thats helpful.

Like Dangirl said, International students are expected to pay full price, which means double the price an average American student pays. Although their are alot of scholarship available for you incase the expense, gets to a point where it's beyond your limit. Best Uni in American has to be the International Uni located in Phoenix.
