<|nig123005.jpg| |right|>(SomaliNet) Ex- Nigerian president General Yakubu Gowon has cautioned President Olusegun Obasanjo against standing for another term in office.
"We have to avoid the tendency of leadership to prolong itself or overstaying its acceptability," said Gen Gowon.
This was at a conference that brought together Nigerian leaders from the central region. Gowon ruled the nation from 1966 to 1975. However, the question of who should succeed Obasanjo is also not yet answered. While some favor Nigerian Vice president who is from the north, the southern side is not contented.
