LIBERIA: INDIAN ON MONITORING PANEL January 26, 2006

Kizza Harajah

(SomaliNet) Rajiva Bhushan Sinha of India is one of five experts appointed by the United Nations to monitor sanctions on Liberia.

They are headed by Arthur Gregory Blundell of Canada. Other members include Damien Callamand of France, Caspar Fithen of Britain and Tommy Garnett of Sierra Leone.

This follows Security Council's last month's renewal of sanctions imposed on Liberia in 2001. The Panel of Experts to conduct follow-up assessments of the sanctions was also reestablished.
