GHANA INVESTS IN TRACHOMA ELIMINATION January 27, 2006

Kizza Harajah

(SomaliNet) Ghana is doing all it can to get rid of the deadly trachoma. It is doing this through a trachoma-control program under the Ghana Health service.

By 2010, trachoma in Ghana will be un heard of. Thus, it will have beaten the world Health Organisation target of 2020.

"We are proud that our national trachoma control strategy is expected to be so effective over the next four years. We are working very successfully with our partner organizations and we look forward to the entire country benefiting from the elimination of this tragic disease." said Maria Hagan of the Ghana Health service.
