LIBYA: FOREIGN MINISTRY REACT TO BULGARIA'S REPRINT OF BLASPHEMOUS CARTOONS February 8, 2006

Kizza Harajah

(SomaliNet) Media in Bulgaria made a reprint of the so called blasphemous cartoons against the islamic religion to the displeasure of the foreign ministry in Libya.

According to source in the Libyan foreign embassy, this will affect the relationship between Bulgaria and Libya. "Media in most Islamic countries published information on the appearance of the cartoons in Bulgarian newspapers. The attitude and reaction in each publication is different", Foreign Ministry spokesperson Dimitar Tsanchev said.

Since the entire moslim society is not pleased with the issue, the Libyan foreign ministry is not too.

This follows Kofi Annan's appeal that diplomacy should be used and not violence. Hope the Moslim society in Libya follows the appeal.
