GHANA: WAY FORWARD FOR THE EXPORT SECTOR March 3, 2006
Kizza Harajah
(SomaliNet) The International Trade Centre and Ghana Promotion Council are drafting a way forward to ensure that Ghana benefits more from its exports.
Workshops for Ghana's proffessional bodies have been conducted as a way of achieving the above objective. This was revealed by Ghana's Senior Expert Development Officer, Edmund Opoku- Agyeman, while speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA).
Members of the Ghana Association of Consultants, Institute of Freight Forwarders, Institute of Planners and the Ghana Institute of Architects have benefitted from this initiative.
"Besides that in the interim, the Council is planning to assist some local service providers to get to the ECOWAS sub-regional market and the freight forwarders have the opportunities of using the ports. We are trying to map out a programme for the service providers and the Council is looking forward to facilitate some Ghanaian service firms to participate in the upcoming Tunisia Trade Fair in June this year." Mr Opoku-Agyeman said to the GNA.
