(SomaliNet) Liberia is about to get its first female police chief. This is Beatrice Munah Sieh, a teacher from New Jersey. a teacher from New Jersey where she has taught for the past six years.

Sieh served as Deputy Director of Liberia's police force in the late 1990's before her self imposed exile in New Jersey. She thinks that her job will be complicated by the fact that Liberia has just come from war. "Now that we're coming from war, (the job) is even harder. I know that we have to sacrifice (for) our country if we want peace and stability,” Sieh told The Times.

Her first assignment will be the issuance of new badges and confiscating the old ones. All she needs right now is the confirmation of the Senate before she begins her duties officially.
