(SomaliNet) There is still hope for Nigeria to attain democracy accepted at the international level. This observation was made by the representatives of Nigeria's Bauchi state in the National Assembly.
However, they said that this will only be possible if religious and ethnical fights that characterise Nigeria today come to an end. All these remarks were made to THISDAY. They observed without stability, Nigeria will never develop.
Senator Abubakar Maikafi from the south of Nigeria's Bauchi state preached that islam and christianity do not tolerate atrocities, like the recent ones in Southern Nigeria.
Senator Kariya appreciated the respect Nigerians accord democrcy despite what is taking place in the country's political arena. He requested the Nigerians to accord this respect when it comes to their religious beliefs and norms.
