(SomaliNet) South Africa's Jacob Zuma's rape accuser had a mental breakdown after her father's death and had to seek treatment in Zimbabwe.. This was revealed to South Africa's Johannesburg High Court on Friday.

"She never attended a mental institution in Zambia. But I remember her attending a mental institution in Zimbabwe," the accused's mother responder to Jerome Braun's question about whether her daughter received mental treatment in Zambia.Braun is one of Zuma's lawyers.

The mother further revealed that her daughter started the habit of bedwetting and hallucinating on her father's death. However, the treatment she received in South Africa did not yield results and had to be flown to Zimbabwe. "It made the nightmares and hallucinations worse. She became better after seeing the psychologist (in Zimbabwe)."

"According to me she had experienced many difficulties, raped at the age of five, at the age of 13, having your father die in a tragic accident. Seeing your comrades die, your uncles die, you don't have a matric because you don't qualify,"she added in defence of her daughter.

The South African lady said that she also needs a psychologist.
