GHANA: CAMEROONIAN OFFERS TO JOIN TEAM FOR WORLD CUP March 13, 2006

(SomaliNet) Valentine Atem from Cameroon is willing to sacrifice his nationality for a few months in order to play for Ghana's Black Stars during World Cup.
"Ghana has been good to me and I want to give something back to this country," he told BBC Sport. After spending four years playing here, it will be good for my career and my family if I represent Ghana," he told the BBC.
He dismisses remarks that his act is not because he cares about Ghana. He will play for Ghana despite the unwillingness of Ghana's citizens to play for their country during the same games. Asamoah Gerald will play for Germany while Akoto Eric will play for fellow African country, Togo.
