SOMALI PM IS BACK HOME April 29, 2005

(Mogadishu) Somali Prime Minister Mr. Ali Mohamed Geddi went to Mogadishu Somalia from Nairobi, Kenya where his fledging government is temporarily located. Close aides to the PM said the visit will not be long and will focus on selling the government’s agenda to Mogadishu residents.

Earlier this year, Mr. Geddi along with the country’s interim president, Mr. Abdulahi Y. Mohamed visited parts of the country excluding the capital, Mogadishu.

Somalia has been without a central government since 1991 after the last president Mohamed Siad Barre was ousted from power. After two years of negotiations, Somalis established a parliament and a new government in neighboring Kenya last year.
