ARSENAL: GUNNERS SET TO LET GO REYES July 30, 2007

(SomaliNet) After Atletico Madrid bid’s for the striker, Arsenal are finally set to offload Jose Reyes.

According to news sources, the Gunners are desperate to sell the Spaniard after he spent last season on loan at Atletico's city rivals Real.

They were not interested in signing Reyes, 23, on a permanent deal but Atletico now want to keep him in Spain.

They are understood to have made a £6million offer for the forward, although Arsenal may hold out for more.

Reyes does not want to return to England and favours a move to Spain rather than France, where he is being chased by Lyon.

He said yesterday: “I am delighted to be staying in Madrid.

“It is certain I will be staying in the capital, although we’ll have to wait a little to see where I will be playing.

“It has been difficult working by myself and not being able to share a pre-season with my colleagues.

“For this reason, I am pleased everything is about to be resolved.”

Reyes agreed to join Atletico last summer only to turn his back on the move at the last moment to join Real.-The Sun
