PREMIER LEAGUE – BRAZILIAN ALVES DEMANDS CHELSEA TRANSFER BID August 8, 2007

(SomaliNet) According to a report reaching here, Brazilian right back Daniel Alves has demanded Sevilla consider a transfer bid put in for him by Chelsea.

Alves has made no secret of his desire to move to one of Europe's top clubs, and now has his heart set on Chelsea, who are still searching for a right back following Paulo Ferreira and Glen Johnson's failure to convince.

"It's a wonderful chance for my career and I want to take advantage of it," he said.

"If they have respect for me they have to take into consideration the offer made by Chelsea.

I have behaved impeccably over the last four-and-a-half years so I hope that Sevilla will reciprocate. They have to analyse the offer that has been made."

"I wouldn't like to have to leave Sevilla in a bad way. I have already said that I want to play for a European giant and take advantage before this ship sails.

"My agent has already been in England for a while now dealing with Chelsea's offer and that is really what I am interested in."

Though Sevilla have lost a number of high profile players in recent years, Jose Antonio Reyes, Sergio Ramos and Julio Baptista among them, they have always managed to replace them without compromising the quality of the squad.

A big money offer by Chelsea is thus likely to see them let Alves leave, with highly-rated sporting director Monchi given the funds to invest in a replacement.-Eurosport
