SCOTLAND: ANDERSON TO MISS LITHUANIA AND FRANCE GAMES September 5, 2007
(SomaliNet) Scotland defender Russell Anderson has pulled out of the squad for the Euro 2008 qualifiers against Lithuania and France because of a calf muscle injury.
Scotland assistant manager Roy Aitken told a news conference on Wednesday there were no plans to replace the Sunderland player for Saturday's home match against Lithuania and the trip to France four days later.
"Russell is in the same situation as (Derby County striker) Kenny Miller, he has reported for the squad but is not available for any of the two games," Aitken said.
Scotland are third in Group B with 15 points from seven games, three adrift of leaders France and one behind world champions Italy. -Reuters
