LA LIGA: BOCA PRESIDENT RULE OUT RIQUELME RETURN September 6, 2007

(SomaliNet) There is no chance that we will sign Juan Roman Riquelme from Villarreal when the transfer window re-opens in January, the president of Boca Juniors Mauricio Macri has said.

The Argentinian playmaker started his career at Boca and had a short loan spell there in spring, but the Buenos Aires club say they cannot afford to sign him permanently.

"When the transfer window opens again we will be in the same situation we are in until now," said Macri.

"The truth is that Villarreal don't want Riquelme and he doesn't want to stay at Villarreal, but we can't do anything differently from what we have already done.

"Riquelme gets paid too much money in Europe and Boca can't do crazy things. We made a very big effort to bring him back but we can't do any more, so it will be impossble to get him in winter.

"When we brought him over for the early part of the year it was an exception. Now Villarreal want to sell him and we can't pay what they want. In addition, I don't think any team in South America could afford his wages."

said that there isn't any chance of having Juan Roman Riquelme back in December when the transfer window gets opened again in Argentina and Spain.
