SOCCER: ARSENAL’S FABREGAS ADMITS HOLDING TALKS WITH REAL MADRID September 6, 2007

(SomaliNet) Arsenal’s Fabregas admits he held talks with Real Madrid this summer - but decided to stay with Arsenal and is "very contented with the decision".

Fabregas has been a transfer target for the Spanish giants ever since Ramon Calderon became president at the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer of 2006.

The young Gunners mid fielder told Radio Marca that after talks with Calderon and Madrid sport director Predrag Mijatovic in July, he decided to stick with the Gunners.

Fabregas said: "They seem to me two very good and very sincere people. In the end I decided to stay with Arsenal. I go 100 per cent with the decision that I took."

The Emirates Stadium prodigy has never ruled out a return to Spain at some stage in his career, but again stated that for now he is happy in London.

He added: "In the future I do not know what is going to happen. I am very contented with the decision that I took." –Eurosport
