EURO 2008: ENGLAND CAPTAIN INJURED IN FULHAM CLASH, CAUSES PANIC September 30, 2007

(SomaliNet) Chelsea’s John Terry suffered a depressed fractured of the cheekbone in Chelsea's match against Fulham and has now become an injury doubt for England's upcoming Euro 2008 qualifying matches.

Fulham forward Clint Dempsey in the opening minutes of the 0-0 draw at Stamford Bridge.

He saw a specialist on Saturday evening and will undergo surgery on Sunday.

The centre back played on until the end of the first half, but was substituted for Alex at half time.

Chelsea manager Avram Grant is now awaiting confirmation of the injury from club medics.

Should that confirmation come, Terry would be a major doubt for next month's vital matches against Estonia and Russia, adding to England manager Steve McClaren's injury problems, who is already without Jonathon Woodgate, Gary Neville and Ledley King.

Terry would also miss his club's Champions League group match away to main rivals Valencia next week.-Eurosport
