Zainab Osman

(SomaliNet) A train accident in which one carriage plunged into a river in Indonesia's south Sumatra province has left at least seven people dead, a railway company official said Monday.

"One wagon of the train fell into a river and so far seven people have been reported to have been killed," said a spokesman for train operator.

He could not give more details about the accident but said that train, which was bound for Kertapati, came off the rails seven kilometers after leaving the town of Lubuklinggau.

In a different incident, George Bush arrived in Indonesia today to highlight growing strategic ties with the world's most populous Muslim nations.
