GERMANY: ARMED MAN ATTACKS SCHOOL November 20, 2006

(SomaliNet) A masked man opened fire with a pistol in a high school in northwestern Germany, wounding eight people Monday in an attack that ended with his death. However, at the moment it's not clear how the man died whether it was from police bullets or his own. Police chief, Laackmann said that explosives were found near the man's body.
He entered the Geschwister Scholl School in Emsdetten, near the Dutch border, at about 9:30 a.m., and fired several shots, police spokesman Josef Brinker said.
Several students, a female teacher and the head caretaker were among the wounded. Their injuries were not life-threatening, Laackmann said.
The armed man was said to be an eighteen year old former student of the school, his motives will never be known.
