AUSTRALIA: BODY FOUND IN BUSHFIRE'S PATH November 21, 2006

(SomaliNet) The body of a man has been found in burnt-out bush land on the New South Wales south coast. Rural Fire Service (RFS) firefighters found the body after responding to reports of a bushfire on a rural property at Nelligen, near Batemans Bay.
A NSW police spokesman said the man was found on the property fence line. The cause of death has not yet been established but it could be due to the smoke and flames.
Meanwhile the village of St Albans, 90km northwest of Sydney, could come under threat from a new bushfire that broke out in the area today, the Rural Fire Service (RFS) has warned. It had already burnt out around 3000ha of bush land and may soon threaten St Albans, Mr. Koperberg said.
About 400 firefighters and 18 aircraft were working to slow the spread of the 8000ha fire to the north of the Blue Mountains centre of Black heath. Mr. Koperberg said temperatures in the high 30s and high winds would create even more extreme conditions late this afternoon.
He advised mountain residents to prepare a plan to stay or leave their homes early if fire approaches their area. Fires are also burning in the Hunter Valley and near Forbes and Oberon in western NSW.
Yesterday's similarly hot conditions across South Australia sparked 43 fires with most started by lightning in grasslands east of Adelaide.
